Problem Description:
When decelerating and the vehicle speed is between 30 MPH and 20 MPH, there is a vibration in the vehicle.
Checked all of the front end parts, including the drive axles, and found no problem. Removed the drive shaft and found that the rear u-joint was locked up. It was necessary to replace the complete drive shaft as the u-joints are not made to be replaced. |

Cleaned Central Gateway Control Module Connector
Problem Description:
The driver circuit in the A/C blower is not working. Let the vehicle sit over night and the engine cranks but will not start. No instrument cluster A/C control, etc. Scanned the system for trouble codes and there were 21 of them, half of which were U codes. Checked all power supplies and grounds and checked all fuses, and found no problems. Located the Data Interface Module and checked all connections. All seemed OK except the instrument cluster was dead. Traced the lines to the right side CAN separating connector. Cleaned the connection and all was good. The problem has been repaired.

Repaired Shifter Wiring
Problem Description:
The transmission will not shift manually. Removed the dash on the left side to remove the shifter and found a 4 wire connector that goes down to the shift module (part of the shifter) had 3 of its 4 wires broken inside of the insulation.
Ohm tested all of the wires and they tested fine, but when the wires were tugged on they broke apart. This usually happens because when the shift lever is moved constantly under normal operation, the wires, where they are held in place on the pivoting part of the shifter, move back and forth until they break. It is hard to see the breaks with the naked eye or by ohm testing, the wires need to be tugged on. Sometimes the wires can be spliced to repair them, but in this case the entire shifter was replaced. The vehicle only had 84,000 miles on it. |
